Fall Sunshine

Fall colours02

It has been gray in Red Deer, with our poor frozen leaves forlornly hanging on the trees and not knowing how to drop off.  Previously, I’d have told any kid who asked me that the trees turn yellow in the fall and drop their leaves because the days grow short and the nights long.  This year, I learned something new.  I learned that for good fall colour you also want a warm early spring, a wet summer, and September days that bask in sunshine but put frost on the pumpkins at night.

As I said though, we have had all too many gray days one after another.  You’d think we’d moved to Victoria, minus the ocean, or something.

So I hunted you up these pictures to help blow the clouds away.  Perhaps the sun will come out tomorrow.
