Do you hang your sneakers on the telephone lines overnight?

Funny how we all want to be noticed and known as uniquely us, and at the same time we all want to be, “the same as everyone else”.   And yet, how often do I really notice the trainers somebody is wearing.  I mean, shoes belong, in matched pairs on someone’s feet.

But if you looked up and saw a pair of running shoes dangling from the telephone lines overhead, far from the feet you would expect them to be close to, wouldn’t you give a few extra  seconds to wondering how and why they came to be there?

Apparently in some parts of the world, like New York City, dangling runners are more common than in Red Deer.

Don’t know about Red Deer, but Saskatoon has its share of hanging runners. They’re found mainly in rough neighbourhoods, and are usually there as a result of a gang beating–at least that’s the usual interpretation that you hear around the tough neighbourhood.
